Chapter 5: Teeth
by xionghuanI’m not sure I’ve ever had the most genius idea.
I’ve decided to buy brownies and bring them to Parker and his friends, how could he not smile when there’s brownies.
He may not have liked the pact, or agreed to it. But that’s okay!
I’m going to do it anyway. Secretly.
“You want a whole box of brownies?” The cash register man asks me.
“Yes please.”
He nods and adds them all into a box for me.
“Thank you.” I smile and take the box.
I place the white box in the basket of my bike before I begin riding to Parker’s Mechanics.
I’m so going to make him smile. He is so going to love it.
I ride up to the garage and see Wes, Gavin, and Nico. Parker must be in his office.
I climb off my bike and grab the box holding it tight as I walk up under the shelter and I smile, “Hi boys.”
They all look at me and Nico smiles, “What’s in there?”
“Brownies! You want them?”
I barely get the word brownie out before Gavin instructs me to put it on the car and they open the box beginning to eat them.
“You here for any reason?” Wes asks.
“Nope. Was just passing by.” I smile.
“Are your freckles natural?” Nico asks.
“I think so. I mean, they just appear.”
“That means natural, P.”
“I like that nickname.” I take a sip of my juice.
The door opens and Parker comes out looking as delicious as usual.
“Hi Parker.” I smile.
He looks at me, between his friends and frowns, “What are you doing here?” Although, his voice doesn’t sound as cold as usual.
“Just working on our pact.”
“We didn’t agree on any pact.” He comes over and looks in the box, “Are these weed brownies?”
The boys all choke in sync with one another.
“No!” I squeal, my voice breaking, “What makes you think that!”
“After our conversation last night about drugs,”
“I gave you the money for my drugs.”
He sticks his hand into his pocket and holds the money between two fingers toward me.
“I don’t need the money.” I smile.
“Take it, it’s yours anyway.”
“It’s for my bike.”
“I told you not to worry about it.”
“I’m not taking the money.”
My eyes widen as he sticks the money in the strap of my dress.
I take it out and look on his body where I can stick the money.
I smile to myself as I stand on my tippy toes, reaching my arm up and sticking it in his mouth.
All of the boys begin laughing and Parker glares at me, grabs the money, and sticks it in the top of my dress, near my boobies.
Holy guacamole.
I blush as he nearly touched my boobies.
I stick my hand down the front of my dress and get the money out before I lift the bottom of his shirt up slightly and drop the money in his jeans so they go down his pants.
His friends are all cackling and I smile at Parker, “A little surprise for when you go to the toilet.”
He leans against the car, crosses his arms and I watch his muscles flex. Yummy yummy.
“Get back to work.” Parker says to the boys before grabbing my hand and leading me out the back to his office again.
I look at our hands as they are joined. You can barely see my hand, it’s mostly inside of Parker’s.
He opens the door and directs me inside.
“Am I in trouble?” I raise a brow.
He shakes his head going around his desk and sitting in the spiny chair.
I sit on the chair in front of the desk and fiddle with the end of my dress.
He opens paperwork and begins writing as if I’m not sitting right here.
“Why am I in here?”
He shrugs, “Why not?”
“Do you just sit here in silence all day?” I ask.
“I work on the cars too.” He glances at me.
I pull my phone out and put on Ex’s and Oh’s.
I smile and Parker looks up with a frown.
I stand up and begin dancing around his office.
If he’s going to trap me here, I may as well dance.
I wiggle my hips to the music and spin in a circle and Parker leans back in his chair, “Can you not sit in silence?”
“Nope.”
The corner of his lips twitch and I freeze, “You were about to smile.”
“No I wasn’t.”
I walk over to him and stand, moving his chair to face me.
For once I’m the one towering over him.
“You were about to smile.”
“No, I wasn’t.” He frowns.
I gasp, “Do you not have teeth? Is this why you don’t smile?”
“I do have teeth.”
“Smile and prove it to me.”
“No.”
“Oh come on, help a friend out.”
“So we’re friends now?”
My smile drops and I fight back the tears threatening my eyes, “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to overstep.”
“You didn’t overstep, we are friends.” He looks at me with worry.
“Really?” I tilt my head.
He nods, his eyes flickering over my face.
“Yay.” I smile.
I haven’t made a new friend in a long time.
“Have you had lunch yet?” He asks.
“No, I didn’t have breakfast either so I’m soooooo hungry.”
He stands up and grabs his wallet and keys sliding them in his pocket, “Why didn’t you eat breakfast?” He asks as we leave his office.
“I ran out of time.” I lie.
We go out to the garage and pass the boys as we go to Parker’s car.
