Chapter 9: He Left Me

Carol whispered, “Eva Bowmen, I would like to introduce you to The Lunch Room,”, She said the last part like some commercial person advertising,

I just nodded my head keeping my emotions under control, I was really, how can I put it nervous?, I hadn’t been near this many wolves for three years then all of a sudden the feeling in my gut increased my 10 because I was near at the most 200 wolves,

My eyes scanned the lunch room while Carol did the same I guess looking for her friends, I crossed my arms narrowing my eyes a bit,

I wanted to burst out laughing because the moment we had opened the lunch room door the whole area was silent,

Carol seemed a bit tense too but as soon as she saw her friends her tenseness flew away,

“Oh!, I see my friends!”, Carol whispered to me all excited, “Let’s get lunch first then we’ll sit.”,

She grabbed my forearm and began dragging me to the rows of lunch food, I could feel the heated glares of many of the students but didn’t pay attention,

“You know everyone is looking at us?”, Carol whispered really lowly handing me a black plastic tray,

I didn’t bother looking at them, “And they deserve my attention why?”,

I had made sure I said that loud enough that those idiot starers would look away,

I heard a group start talking loudly, Funny how I seemed to know that high pitched voice everywhere, Many other groups started chatting in low tones that they thought I wouldn’t hear, I did but I chose to ignore them and move on,

“Common, let’s get our lunch,”, I said casually bumping Carol lightly with my shoulder, The tension left her body as she nodded smiling her bright smile, It even made me smile,

We got in line to the self serve lunch rows, I set my tray down and began looking at the types of food there were today ,but suddenly I felt that familiar tingle?,

I spun around instantly and my eyes connected with the framiliar blue ones, My wolf practically bubbled in joy at the sight of him,

A huge smiled spread on my lips before I took off full speed and jumped right into his arms hugging him tightly to my body never wanting to let go,

I heard a nervous chuckle and when I felt his body tense I looked up at him in confusion, His blond hair was a bit messed up and his scent was weird,

My wolf alerted me that the lunch room was once more quiet,

I frowned confused and hurt and I didn’t hide it, He set me down on my feet genitally smiling a tight tiny smile,

“Hey Eva?”, He said but more like asked,

“Ethan,”, I said cautiously, “you okay?”,

Ethan nodded slowly and said, “Yeah,”, but it sounded as if someone had made him say that,

I grabbed his hand and dragged him to the lunch rows and grabbed him a tray setting it down to mine, I pulled him right next to me to have privacy so the others couldn’t see or hear us since our back was to them,

I started putting random things on my plate and Ethan actually looked like he was interested in the food, He looked nervous,

“Good,”, I whispered to low for the others to hear, “We can get out of here now, but lets talk about this later.”,

He looked like he was going to say something but shut his mouth, He just nodded and smiled at me,

Did I mention how my brain works many ways?, Well, I could be doing something and concentrating on that thing only and I could still come up with a plan to get out of here,

The lunch room had begun in quiet whispers, as I look a quick glance at Ethan, There was something off about him, and it wasn’t only his scent, Maybe they did an experiment on him!,

My eyes widened, I knew that look, It was a look he only showed a couple times in order to not hurt my feelings,

He wasn’t telling me something, He was lying when he said he was fine,

He began walking or as I was just following him and looking at him closely,

“You sure your okay?”, I asked him once more,

“Yes!”, He snapped at me yet not looking in my eyes,

I felt a bit hurt that he would snap at me for caring for him ,but I was also pissed that I knew definatly that he was lying to me now,

My thoughts were snapped when I heard that really annoying sound,

“Oh look at carrot-top Carol, dressed just like the carrot she is!”, Megan had Carol by the arm and looking at her with a face of disgust, Carol grimaced as tears coated her eyes,

That about did it, i practically threw my lunch on some random table and was storming my way over to them, How dare she treat her like that!,

“Oh is poor ginger going to cry?”, Megan teased Carol,

“P..Please I jus…”, Carol was on the verge of tears,

My temper was sky rocketing, First getting captured then brought to this damn school, now Ethan was lying to me and Carol was being hurt?, What the hell!,

In a second I was standing in front of Megan trying my best not to shift,

I grabbed her hand that was latched onto Carol’s and began twisting it back in my iron hard grip, I felt Carol go behind me trying to hide her tears,

“Well, at least she doesn’t look like a piece of black shit!”, I said commenting onm her hair while smiling and crushing her hand in mine, To other it would look painless handshake, but the pain was clear in her eyes and cries,

“Eva, please leave her alone!”, Ethan said trying to remove my hand, I glared at him and released her hand, She cuddled it to her chest weeping and cussing,

“Why the hell are you trying to protect her Ethan?, Oh, and while your at it please explain to me why your lying to me?”, I crossed my arms my wolf begging to come out,

Then something hit me, Ethan turned towards Megan who was very red with a bit of tears, His scent, Her scent, They were the same, Him protecting her, The love in his eyes,

They were mates,

Holy shit they were mates!,

Megan and Ethan!,

Ethan and Megan!,

What the hell is going on!,

I was shocked and it was clearly written on my face, That why he wouldn’t hug me back, That why he seemed nervous, He didn’t tell me he found his mate, That ass lied to me!,

He lied!, To me!, We have been best friedns on the run for three years and he doesn’t tell me!,

“She’s your mate,”, I said my voice filled with anger,

I wouldn’t hurt her now knowing it would cause Ethan pain, That’s how mates work, You feel each others pain, I might be hell of a angry with Ethan ,but I could kill him because I had lost my temper and killed his mate,

Ethan turned to me as he cradled Megan, The lunch was super silent now with tension heavy in the air,

“I’m s..sorry Eva but I didn’t know how to tell you,”, Ethan accused as if it was my fault, Why would he say it like that?, It’s not like I love love him,

I growled deeply and dangerously coming inches away from Ethan’s face, I saw a bit of fear ,but that soon went away as he thought about being a man for his mate,

“You know what Ethan,”, I said with all my hate and anger in it, “You can take that apology and shove it up your mate’s…..”, I didn’t finish,

Megan immediately tackled me to the ground her shaking, I could tell her wolf was not under control and taking over her,

I grunted as I was slammed against the granite tile grounds, My eyes closing instinctively on impact,

Megan growled and and grabbed my throat trying to choke me as I opened my eyes,

And may I say it was painful, The lack of oxygen, Everyone trying to pull her off me, Telling me to pull her off me,

But I wouldn’t, I may want to kill Megan ,but I couldn’t let Ethan go through the painful process of losing a mate,and since they are already mated it will hurt more,

My arms were clenched at my sides my face heating up real quick,

My wolf growled so darkly and dangerously willing me to let her come out and rip Megan to shreds, Though I wasn’t going to let her, She might be strong but I wasn’t going to let her out,

Ethan tried to pull Megan off but Megan wasn’t home, Her eyes were as dark as the night with an evil smile,

I felt my vision start to flicker, I sent one last promise to God,

If I live right now I will punch Ethan in the face,

I was giving up faith and the pain was increasing a lot now, Way to much,

Next thing I know is Megan is pulled off me and thrown across the whole lunch room which was a very large area,

I didn’t get a chance to look at my saver because I was already fulfilling my promise, At least someone cares enough to save my life, I thought,

In a couple seconds I was next to Ethan’s shocked face and smiling,

“You have now entered you own personal hell,”, I said as a confused expression came across him face,

You know what else came across his face?, My fist!, Haha!, Get It?,

My fist punched his face so hard that I was sure that I had broken something, Though us being werewolves it would heal in a couple hours, I never said I couldn’t hurt him physically, And plus, I hated people who lied to me and didn’t help me when I really wanted their help,

Those weren’t friends, Those were assholes, The most thing I hated was lying people,

I saw as the nurses came and stuck a needle in Megan’s arm who’s eyes were beyond midnight black who fell into a quick sleep,

I smirked but it was quickly gone as Timmy pulled me out of the lunch room, And off we go to my utter doom!, I thought, Joy!,

My day just keeps getting better!
